1. How do I know the children will be in Safehands?
All of Safehands carers are fully screened, including enhanced CRB clearance, 2 suitable references, and telephone interview and have a minimum of three years childcare experience.
2. Who will oversee the children's crèche?
Your dedicated Creche Team! We will provide you with a dedicated supervisor who will oversee a committed crèche team making sure the day runs smoothly from start to finish.
3. My child/children have special needs. When is the best time to inform Safehands crèche team?
You should inform Safehands with all the necessary details as soon as possible prior to the creche so that we are able to ensure our creche team are fully prepared for your child/children on the day.
4. Who can collect my child from the crèche?
The parent/guardian must be the person who collects the child. When arriving at the creche, we will require you to complete a creche registration form. You will also be required
to sign our crèche signing in and out sheet.
5. How do in know the children will have fun in the Safehands Crèche?
Safehands endeavour to provide a fun and stimulating environment for children of all ages and abilities. Children are able to enjoy team games or 'free play' with a range of toys and activities.
6. What activities will you do with the children on the day?
Safehands creches provide a mix of structured activities, team games, and free play activities for children of all ages and abilities.
7. How many creche staff will look after the children?
Safehands adhere to strict ratios as set by Ofsted who govern childcare within the UK. For babies under 2 years of age we provide 1 carer to 3 babies, children aged 2-3 years we
provide 1 carer to 4 children and for children aged over 3 years we provide 1 carer to 8 children.
8. What Insurances do Safehands Creches have?
Safehands Creches have public liability insurance as illustrated within our crèche terms and conditions
9. What happens in the event of a fire?
The creche team will evacuate all of the children in accordance with the crèche venues evacuation procedures. Parents can accompany us to the evacuation meeting point or meet us there.
Once the all clear is given, the crèche team will re-enter the children into the building or sign the children out from the evacuation point if the building has been deemed unsafe.
10. My child requires medication – are Safehands carers prepared to help medicate children?
Safehands carers will not administer medication unless the the parent or guardian has stipulated the child's needs within the creche registration form and have
completed a Safehands medical consent form. All medication has to be prescribed by a doctor.
11. Do you provide quiet areas for the babies/children to sleep?
Safehands provide soft mats and sheets for tired children and if your creche runs into evening then we can arrange for a Safehands registered babysitter to take care of your child whilst they sleep.
12. Can I stay with my child/children at the crèche?
We allow you to stay with child/children at the crèche however we advise that you leave your child as they frequently settle and make friends more quickly than when a parent is present.
13. What if my child needs the toilet?
All children are escorted to the toilet by a member of the crèche team who aim to ensure that the children have separate toilet facilities from the adults.
14. Do the children need money?
Children do not need to have money within our care.
15. What if my child/children become unsettled?
Our team endeavour to make the children feel settled and comfortable within the crèche, however if your child becomes unsettled for more than 15 minutes then we will inform you
so that you may stay or take your child out of the creche.
